Life as of November 21st

I'd like to give a brief description of what is going on in each of our lives so here goes.

Jaycee is now 8 and is currently in the second grade. She enjoys school but sometimes likes to talk to her friends at the wrong times like a typical 8 year old. Jaycee is currently in two dance classes, hip hop and pom. Hip hop is pretty self explanatory and I guess I would explain pom as a cross between cheerleading and dance. They will be having competitions in which we will have to travel but I think Minneapolis is as far as we'll have to go. She has been in dance classes for about 4 years and I can see her dancing for many years to come. We put her into a basketball camp last month and she also had a lot of fun with that. She even received an award for the Most Improved Player.

Jeran turned 6 in October and he's in Kindergarten. He also enjoys going to school which really makes us happy. His teachers tell us that he is progressing quite well and is also making a lot of friends, there is one named Hudson that he won't stop talking about. We've also been trying to get Jeran involved of other activities and signed him up for a month-long karate camp. He wanted no part of it and wouldn't leave my side the entire time, however once we left he wanted to do everything he saw them do. He is also signed up in soccer but has missed most of the season because of the communication wasn't the best as to when the start of the season was. The one sport he does want to play is tennis, I believe it's because of the Nintendo Wii tennis that we have.

Jaevyn is 2 and is definitely a 2 year old. She is 100 miles an hour and that's when she has slowed down. She is into Dora the Explorer, so much so that she won't take off any type of clothing if they have Dora on them. She likes to carry around our new puppy, Emma, but unfortunately she likes to carry Emma by her neck.

As for Jodi, I'll let her tell you how old she is. She still has the in-home day care so she stays quite busy. I tell you, there is no way I could do what she does. She currently has around 10 kids on a full time and part time basis. She's gotten really involved with Jaycee's dance team as the team mom; I'm not sure what a team mom actually does but I guess I'll see at the first competition. Jodi just got back from a weekend trip to Minneapolis with her sister and a couple of friends, they shopped at the outlet malls all weekend and came back with numerous bags. She had a lot of fun!!

I just turned 29 so that's kind of crazy to think about. It's hard to imagine that it was 10 years ago that I graduated from high school and went to college. Time sure does fly though. I am still with Raven Industries and I luckily made the cut from some layoffs that happened due to a slowdown in sales. Like the kids, I also try and stay as active as possible. I've been playing soccer once a week for the last 6 months, I'm not sure what I'm doing 100% of the time but I have a good time and I get a good workout. Winter volleyball has also started, I've been doing this for about 3 years and I have a lot of fun doing it.

Hi Swenson! I checked out your blog, wow how time has flown! I can't believe your kids are getting so old.....two in school now! Everything is pretty much the same here in Aberdeen for Shaun and I. He has been working for BEST Business Products for about a year now, which has been a great change from Menards. Otherwise, not much news here. Take Care - Jess Falken
